Even if you don’t have your own horse, you can ride at Folly Farm through our Riding School and IEA programs. The Riding School operates year round. We have a large outdoor sand ring, as well as two indoor arenas to accommodate all levels of riders regardless of the weather.
Riding School private and group lessons are offered Tuesday through Sunday with lesson groups based on the rider's age and experience level.
Folly Farm operates on a semester basis. All new customers are welcome to purchase a 3-lesson introductory package to get a feel for whether or not our program is a good fit. Introductory package lessons are 30-minute private lessons. Riders who are capable of riding independently and safely may be invited to join hour long group lessons. Abilities are assessed by our instructors and there is no set timeline for riders to meet the benchmarks required to join a group.
Semesters begin every 13 weeks, on a set schedule. Riders purchasing an introductory package may join the semester on a pro-rated package. Each semester package covers 11 lessons and we build in two weeks for make-up lessons. To be eligible for make-ups, riders or their parents must cancel lessons with at least 24 hours’ notice. Riders who do not need make-up lessons will be billed accordingly to bridge the gap between semesters.
All lesson packages are non-refundable. Regretfully, we can only offer lessons to students willing and able to make a weekly commitment to their allotted time slot. Students wishing to take a break to pursue other activities or avoid the harsher weather will be required to join the waiting list should they wish to re-join the lesson program.
